APC Construction Earns “Best in Colorado” Recognition for Fall River Road Improvements

APC Construction, in partnership with Clear Creek County, was recognized with a “Best in Colorado” award in the Local Agency (County) New or Reconstruction category for the Fall River Road Improvements project. This honor highlights the team’s commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure in some of Colorado’s most challenging environments.

The $2.9 million project focused on improving 3.5 miles of Fall River Road along the upper portion from Silver Lake down. Work included 1.2 miles of asphalt pavement reconstruction and 2.1 miles of 8-inch full-depth reclamation, followed by 5 inches of new asphalt pavement. In total, approximately 14,000 tons of asphalt materials were placed to enhance durability and ride quality along this high-elevation corridor.

The project presented unique challenges, including steep grades, tight hairpin turns, and heavy tourist traffic. Despite these complexities, the team delivered exceptional results. Award judges noted, “Great looking project! Longitudinal joints look fantastic, impressive quality for elevation, hairpin turns and steep grades. Especially smooth ride. Must have been very challenging given the high tourist traffic, very nice!”

The award was presented by the Colorado Asphalt Pavement Association at the “Best in Colorado” Asphalt Awards Dinner & Program on February 12, 2026, at the DTC Marriott in Denver.
